The worldwide success of Carmen sometimes makes us forget that this masterpiece is the fruit of the journey of a composer immersed in the French lyrical world of the 19th century, wanting from his first works to bring passion and life to the stage. From creations to the most recent covers, we explore his corpus by diversifying the angles of approach: genres, performers, staging, literary and musical writing, questions of language, form and vocality...

For around fifteen years, the conferences of the Théâtre national de l'Opéra-Comique have been interested in operatic art in all its facets, bringing together numerous research partners for work and exchange sessions, with an ambition transdisciplinary and international.
