Comic opera nights and indeed theatre nights in general, traditionally paired two performances: a substantial piece by an established composer or playwright, preceded by a shorter one requiring only a handful of performers and entrusted to an emerging artist. Many of these brief pieces, which once launched dazzling careers, are now ripe for rediscovery in the intimate setting of the Foyer.
