Continuing her Encyclopédie du geste au travail (Encyclopedia of Working Gestures), choreographer-anthropologist Sylvie Balestra, of the SYLEX dance company, has captured the moves of the Opéra-Comique's fly crew, whose profession is being transformed through the modernisation works carried out on the stage tower. Having listed, observed and catalogued these gestures and movements — some of which have their origins in the trades of navigation — she now shares her artistic research through an exhibition of photographs and observations as well as a danced-lecture shedding light on these unseen professions.
