“Once upon a time, there was a young man named Peter who was tormented by unspeakable anguish...”
Raised by a mother steeped in superstition, Peter seeks solace that neither his friend Clara nor the real world seems able to offer him. Perhaps he could look to the spirits of the forest and the night?
Inspired by a romantic tale by Wilhelm Hauff, Daniel Arkadij Gerzenberg's libretto unfolds a dream with very contemporary resonances: trauma, beliefs, relationship with nature, between alienation and mysticism.
