Mezzo-soprano Katarina Bradić has established herself as one of the most requested singers of her genre. From Baroque repertoire to contemporary music, she is performing at prestigious opera houses, concert halls and festivals worldwide. 

Among her performances of the 2025/26 season are appearances as Mutter in the world premiere of Matthias Pintscher’s Das kalte Herz at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin; in the title role of Handel’s Orlando at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg and as Bradamante in Alcina with Philippe Jaroussky and Ensemble Artaserse in Montpellier, Paris, and Barcelona.

Recent performances include the title role in Handel’s Orlando (new production) at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in the world premiere of Cassandra at La Monnaie Brussels and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Lady Macbeth (Macbeth Underworld) at Opéra Comique, Driver (Justice, world premiere) at Grand Théâtre Genève, her acclaimed house and role debuts as Dalila (Samson et Dalila) at Opéra du Rhin and as Eduige (Rodelinda) at Dutch National Opera, as well as a return to Komische Oper Berlin in a staged version of Messiah

She has also sung Bradamante at  Theater an der Wien, Staatsoper Hamburg, Aix-en-Provence Festival and Theater Basel, Shirin (Negar, world premiere) at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Penelope and L’umana fragilità (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) at the Theater Basel, Ottavia (L’incoronazione di Poppea) at Opéra du Rhin, Dardano (Amadigi di Gaula) in Barcelona and Madrid, Amastre (Serse) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, La Sphinge (Œdipe) and Ino in Semele at the Komische Oper Berlin. 

Other career highlights include the title role of The Rape of Lucretia for Deutsche Oper Berlin, the title role of Carmen at Den Norske Opera Oslo, Juno (Semele) at the Opernhaus Zurich, Lavinia (Amor vien dal destino) at Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Ursule (Béatrice et Bénédict) at Glyndebourne, Penelope at La Monnaie de Munt, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Theater an der Wien. 

Katarina Bradić was born in Serbia and studied singing at the Vienna Conservatory. She first came to international attention in the 2009/2010 season as a member of the ensemble of the Vlaamse Opera, where her roles included Olga (Evgenij Onegin), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) and Medea (Giasone). Subsequently she joined the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Ms Bradić has collaborated with such conductors and stage directors as René Jacobs, Semyon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, Donald Runnicles, Andrea Marcon; Barry Koskie, Laurent Pelly, Guy Joosten, Stefan Herheim, Christoph Marthaler, Calixto Bieito, Katie Mitchell, Fiona Shaw, Sebastian Baumgarten, and Mariame Clément.

Her discography includes CD and DVD/Blu-Ray recordings of Alcina (Aix-en-Provence), Béatrice et Bénédict (Glyndebourne), Die Liebe der Danae and Mahlermania (Deutsche Oper Berlin) as well as Giasone (Vlaamse Opera).
