Since 2008 the seminars of the Opéra Comique have surveyed opera from various perspectives, fostering transdisciplinary exchanges and international views with two lines of research in mind: firstly, the theatre troupe and staff, secondly, lyrical economy and creation trends.

Three centuries of theatre life, over 3000 titles in the repertoire, works of art being played all around the world… Let’s look at the Opéra Comique’s history from women’s point of view. Our first 2019 seminar enabled us to get a grasp of the diversity of our profiles, experiences and issues. We shall continue to discover and/or rehabilitate female writers, composers, interpreters, viewers, administrators and fictional characters who have shaped or who are shaping French operatic life
