Les extraits du spectacle La Grande Affabulation

La Grande Affabulation recounts the quest of a master in search of her diary, wandering the depths of a dreamlike universe populated by creatures and symbols. A montage of songs, madrigals and cantatas, mostly from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, is woven around this story, with the original lyrics preserved.

Geoffroy Jourdain and Benjamin Lazar are betting that these ancient pieces can resonate deeply with the aspirations of young people today. For they express an impulse, new in late sixteenth-century Europe, towards a more personal and truthful expression of human passions, freed from formal canons.

A twenty-first century urban legend claims that one night, some children left their home without telling their parents, in a quest known to them alone. They had brought their own food, costumes, trestles and songs. During their stopovers, they would compel the musical stories of which they were becoming the heroes. La grande affabulation narrates the great musical confabulation of their maiden voyage.
