Molly Irelan is a Los Angeles-based costume designer working in theater and film. She is known for her comprehensive approach to her work and has extensive training in history and garment construction, as well as costume design. Molly holds a bachelor's degree in history and costume design from the University of Redlands (2010), an associate's degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Portland (2012), and a master's degree in costume design from UCLA (2016).
For the stage, she has designed costumes for Elixir D’Amour (2017), Il Due Figaro (2018), Cold Mountain (2019) and Onegin (2022) at MAW, Amadigi (2016), Orphée (2020) for UCLA, p r i s m (2018), Rev 23 (2020) and Hildegard (2025) at Prototype Festival. La Clemenza di Tito (2022), Proving up (2024), and Cindrillon (2026) at SFCM, The Tragedy of Carmen (2022) on Velaa Island in the Maldives, Il Due Figaro (2022) at HHS. As well Oedipus Rex (2023) and Salome (2024) at HSO. The Romance of the Rose (2023) and The Feast (2023) at LBO. And Mitridate (2024) at BLO.
