Harriet Taylor

Harriet Taylor is an American director working across opera and theatre. A graduate of the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Artist Programme (2022–24), she has directed on both the Covent Garden mainstage and in the Linbury Theatre, with projects including the chamber opera Full Moon in March (2024), the new commission Nacht (2023), and a semi-staged Medea (2024). Further opera work includes The Turn of the Screw (2024) in Cape Town, Associate Director on Le Nozze di Figaro (2025) for the Royal College of Music, and directing the Clonter Opera gala (2023). As an assistant director she has worked on over a dozen productions at the Royal Ballet and Opera, including new stagings of Das RheingoldThe Rape of Lucretia, and Il Trovatore. She also assists regularly at Glyndebourne on productions such as Giulio Cesare and Káťa Kabanová. In theatre she has directed new work at leading UK venues including the Barbican, the Young Vic, and Battersea Arts Centre.
