John Torres is a lighting designer based in New York who works in the fields of opera, theatre, dance and film. His opera projects include Turandot (Opéra de Paris), Tristan und Isolde (Sante Fe Opera), M. Monk's Atlas (Disney Hall, with the LA Philharmonic), J. DiDonato's Eden (Bozar, Brussels), Der Messias (Salzburger Festspiele), The Mile Long Opera (High Line, NYC), Intelligence (Houston Grand Opera); his theatre projects include Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Off Broadway, NYC), The Black Clown (A. R.T. Cambridge), Only an Octave Apart and Hamlet (St. Ann's Warehouse, NYC); for contemporary music, concerts by Drake (Apollo Theatre, NYC), Solange Knowles and Florence and the Machine; for dance, Available Light by L. Childs (Théâtre de la Ville), PIT by B. Jene Smith (Opéra Garnier), Rogues by T. Brown (Théâtre national de Chaillot). In the context of exhibitions, John Torres also collaborates with A.
