Purcell Lunchtime Concerts

Purcell Lunchtime Concerts

SACRED OR SECULAR ARIAS, stage or chamber music to grasp and savor the diversity of Orpheus Britannicus.
A drink will be offered in the theater after the concert (except on 22 January)

At the junction of popular romance and German lied, mélodie flourishes in France as the Romantics decide to use poetry for the emancipation of their musical inspiration. The genre, which perfects poetic discourse, develops under the Third Republic. Fauré, Messager and Debussy lead it to its full accomplishment.
